AMY'S MACARONI AND CHEEZE REVIEW

Recently, on a trip to our local Whole Foods Market, we needed a quick meal. So, what better place to head to than the frozen section? Yes, I know, it’s not the healthiest choice in the world. But when you’re in hurry, you gotta do what you gotta do.

So, we noticed something we had not been able to buy, in a grocery store, since becoming vegan….Macaroni and cheese. We had been making our own vegan "cheese" sauce at home.

The one we tried is by Amy’s with Non-Dairy Cheeze. Across the top in big letters it says Gluten Free, Non-Dairy. A quick look at the ingredients says that it’s vegan. It’s made from organic rice pasta, so it doesn’t contain gluten. The cheese is made out of Daiya Cheese!!

If you haven’t read our review on Daiya Cheese, then go here. How exciting to have Daiya Cheese in pre-made food!! Actually, that was how Daiya was intended to be used and was originally served on pizza, according to Daiya's website.

Amy’s recipe for Macaroni and Cheeze is super tasty! As with all of Amy’s products, it is easy to prepare. You can heat it in a conventional oven, microwave, or toaster oven.  Depending on the method that you choose, it can take from 4 to 30 minutes to prepare.

The result is a delicious, gooey, and creamy macaroni and cheese!! I highly recommend this product.

Pros: Tastes just like the real thing! You will never know it's not real cheese or that the pasta is rice pasta.

Cons: A bit pricey, but worth it when you need something quick to fix
